Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – FAQ

What is HBOT?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive treatment where you breathe concentrated oxygen while inside a gently pressurized chamber. This increases the amount of oxygen your body can absorb and circulate, enhancing recovery, healing, energy, and overall health.

How does HBOT work?

Under mild pressure, oxygen dissolves more deeply into your bloodstream and tissues than it normally would. This creates higher oxygen availability at the cellular level, which supports:

  • Faster tissue repair and healing

  • Reduced inflammation and swelling

  • Increased circulation and oxygen delivery to the brain, muscles, and organs

What does it feel like?

Most people describe the experience as relaxing and restorative.

  • During pressurization, you may feel slight ear pressure—similar to airplane travel—which usually resolves with yawning or swallowing.

  • Once the session begins, you can nap, read, or listen to music while your body absorbs oxygen.

How long is a session?

  • 60 minutes – ideal for general wellness, energy, and recovery.

  • 90 minutes – recommended for deeper healing goals, post-surgery support, or intensive recovery.

How many sessions do I need?

Results are cumulative. A general guide:

  • General health & energy: 2–3x per week for the first month, then 1x weekly.

  • Athletic recovery: 3–5x per week for 2–4 weeks, then 1–2x weekly.

  • Post-surgery or injury: 4–6x per week short-term, then taper.

  • Immune & cognitive reset: 10–20 sessions over 4–6 weeks.

  • Maintenance: 1–2 sessions weekly for long-term health.

Is HBOT safe?

Yes. Mild HBOT is considered very safe. The most common side effect is temporary ear or sinus pressure. A brief health screening is completed before your first session to ensure you are a good candidate.

Can I bring my phone or laptop inside?

Yes. Devices can be used inside the chamber at your discretion. Oxygen is delivered through a nasal cannula, so the chamber environment itself is low-risk.

Who should avoid HBOT?

HBOT is not recommended for individuals with:

  • Untreated pneumothorax (collapsed lung)

  • Severe COPD with CO₂ retention

  • Uncontrolled seizures

  • Active sinus or ear infections

Our team will review your health history and complete a screening before treatment.

What are the benefits?

Clients often report improvements in:

  • Recovery: faster healing from injuries and surgery

  • Performance: reduced muscle fatigue and quicker training recovery

  • Inflammation: less swelling, stiffness, and pain

  • Sleep & stress: deeper rest and reduced anxiety

  • Cognition: sharper focus, memory, and mental clarity

  • Immunity: stronger resilience against illness

  • Energy: higher vitality throughout the day

What should I wear and bring?

  • Wear comfortable cotton clothing and socks.

  • You may bring a book, phone, or headphones.

  • Please do not bring food, drinks, lighters, sharp objects, or oil-based products into the chamber.
