Trousseau is an obscure, local variety in the sub-Alpine Jura region of eastern France not far from the Swiss border. This is light to mid-weight, taut, and firm red with lifted, sophisticated and pretty aromas of redcurrant/strawberry, pine forest with smoke in the distance, and gentle spice. It is light and slightly tart, yet smooth and warm at the same time. Love the focus, harmony, and excellent length, with a peppery, piney finish.
